Tasting commentary
The entire Château team applauds the incredible concentration of the juices and their intense color as soon as they enter the vat! According to oenologist Isabelle Davin, gentle pumping-over exalts a vintage that is both “powerful and unctuous”. She emphasizes that “The quality of the press wines is a reflection of the quality of the berry and seed tastings at the dawn of the harvest. Great vintages are often recognized by this detail”. An unprecedented vintage, where the imposing tannic structure is accompanied by a generous suavity. This infinite softness augurs well for the ability of this Léoville Poyferré 2022 to endure the ages.
