Tasting commentary
Thiis year was exceptional with superb conditions of maturation with small grapes. This year was exceptional with superb conditions of maturation with small grapes. Overmaturity was avoided thanks to increased vigilance by our team. The wine is very dark red almost black. The first nose is rather discreet with notes of red fruits and spices. During the stirring, all the potential of the nose is revealed with red fruits (cherry, raspberry), black fruits (wild ripe, blueberry), spices (liquorice, zan), notes of blond tobacco, badiane... The nose is very pretty, complex and deep appearing very typical Graves. The mouth is impressive while remaining approachable. With a broad and smooth attack with great energy, then a dense, concentrated middle of the mouth, with chiseled tannins and a very soft texture and finally a very long finish.  The balance is incredible thanks to a deep maturity, a great wealth of tannins, a beautiful freshness and also an enchanting sweetness. The aroma is confirmed on this superb complexity of fruits (blackberry, black cherry), spices (liquorice stick, candy zane, cinnamon), chalk, flint, with more surprising notes of candied lemon and violet...  A wine built to last but already in seduction. The aroma of the mouth takes up the codes of the nose with a beautiful complexity of red fuits, black fruits, spices, notes of tobacco leaves, eucalyptus and always those notes of graphite of hearth characteristic of our soils of graves. A very nice vintage combining powerful and elegant in a beautiful refined tannic gague.
