Tasting commentary
The Merlot grapes are intense in aroma and flavor, the tannins dense, soft and fleshy. They already express themselves with finesse and delicacy. The Cabernet Sauvignons, with their impressive potential, are unquestionably exceptional. Initial tastings leave us in awe, revealing extraordinary intensity. The majority in the blend (65-70%), they will contribute to making Domaine de Chevalier rouge 2022 a vintage of anthology that will mark the history of the Domaine. Everything about this vintage is superlative: the climate, the dryness, the juice content, the number of berries per vat, the color, the intensity of taste... but the terroir, the old vines and our precise choices have all contributed to a magnificent freshness and superb balance.
