Owner's words
From the very first glance, Château Maucaillou 2025 seduces with its deep, brilliant colour and intense purple hues, the signature of a perfectly mastered sunny vintage. On the nose, the aromatic expression is immediately captivating: a generous bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry and black cherry, enhanced by hints of graphite, fresh cedar and a subtle dash of liquorice. With aeration, the wine reveals itself further, blending sweet spices, blond tobacco and a light floral touch. The barrel ageing, already well integrated, unfolds a complex palette: toasty and pastry-like tones, as well as scents of mocha and cocoa. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and immediate, carried by a dense, velvety texture. The tannic structure, typical of the Médoc, underpins a vibrant freshness that balances the richness of the vintage. The fruit, radiant throughout the tasting, is accompanied by a subtle minerality that enhances the sensation of purity. The long & lingering finish concludes with aromas of crisp black fruits accompanied by a tinge of toastiness, leaving an impression of precision, balance and elegance. A tribute to the estate’s 150th anniversary, this vintage embodies the perfect marriage of power and refinement, magnified by ageing of great finesse. Already captivating in its youth, Château Maucaillou 2025 promises exceptional ageing potential, worthy of its heritage.
