Owner's words
The 2023 vintage is a winegrower's vintage, that is to say a farmer's vintage who has been able to adapt to complex weather by precisely following the condition of the vines and their behavior at each stage. Finally, the bright and late sun was a real miracle which carried the finish of the Merlots. All Cabernets Sauvignons and Petits Verdots have reached their peak of quality and fullness. This is how the following are blended, after a rigorous selection, in this 2023 vintage: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon – 27% Merlot – 18% Petit Verdot. The first tastings show: - A wine with a deep, bright and crimson color - A bouquet where red fruits and black fruits exude which leads us to imagine a Dutch painting from the 17th century (still life) where the fruits are bright, juicy and appetizing - On the palate it is fullness, richness and elegance due to a perfect balance brought by the distinguished acidity of Cabernest Sauvignons with the maturity of the late sun. We will appreciate finally the power brought by the Petits Verdots with their spicy and peppery notes. Finally a long caudalie perfects a vintage that honors the extraordinary previous 2022.
